Status of Jordanian Women: Demography, Economic Participation, Political Participation and Violence

The Report, prepared in cooperation with the Department of Statistics and the Jordanian National Commission for Women, is part of UNIFEM's initiative on Gender Equality Measured Through Statistics (GEMS). It highlights existing gender gaps and disparities to be acknowledged and addressed by all partners in national development expected to facilitate the promotion and protection of women's rights while facilitating their empowerment and capacity to play an increased role in different areas. The major indicators and findings of the Report will represent a major contribution to the national Millennium Development Goals process.
